Putali Kunwar, Central Falls, Obuituary, Death: In loving Memory of Lawrence Beauvais, Whose Life Was Tragically Taken

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we honor the life and service of John Penley of Orange, a retired firefighter and proud Marine whose passing has left a profound void among his family, friends, and fellow brothers and sisters in service.

John served with dedication and honor at Orange City Fire Department from January 7, 2021, until his retirement in 2025. During his time with the department, he stood shoulder to shoulder with his crew, embodying courage, commitment, and the spirit of service. He was not only a firefighter but a trusted member of the fire family—someone others could rely on in the most critical moments.

Before his service in the fire department, John proudly served his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. In that role, he carried one of the most solemn and honorable responsibilities—as a Marine Corps Body Bearer. This elite duty reflected the highest level of trust, as he helped carry fallen Marines to their final resting place with dignity, respect, and unwavering honor.

John’s life was defined by service—to his country, his community, and those around him. Like many who dedicate themselves to protecting others, he carried unseen burdens with quiet strength and resilience. Yet through it all, he remained steadfast, selfless, and deeply committed to those he served alongside.

His passing is a tremendous loss, but his legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the community he helped protect, and the example he set for others. He will be remembered for his bravery, his humility, and his unwavering dedication to something greater than himself.

To his family, friends, and fellow firefighters and Marines, we extend our deepest condolences. May you find strength in one another and comfort in the memory of his service and sacrifice.

Rest easy, John. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of honor, courage, and brotherhood will never be forgotten.
